Uniform Guidance

Uniform Guidance are new rules concerning how we administer, account for and audit federal grant and contract funds. Uniform Guidance became effective December 26, 2014, and applies to new awards or additional funding to existing awards made after this date. For existing federal awards received prior to December 26, 2014, UT will adhere to the stated terms and conditions of the award.

The purpose of Uniform Guidance is to streamline the Federal government’s guidance on Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements. These modifications are a key component of a larger Federal effort to more effectively focus Federal resources on improving performance and outcomes while ensuring the financial integrity of taxpayer dollars.

SPA and the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) are partnering to offer several information sessions. These “town hall” style forums are designed to address both your pre-award and post-award questions in a collaborative, interactive format. Uniform Guidance will bring significant, but positive, changes to the way we do business at UT. We encourage you to register for a session at Office of Research and Engagement.
